INTERVIEW
How did you get into the art world?
In fact, my contact with drawing begins in childhood, at the age of 8. Since then, I can't remember any time when I wasn't drawing. However, since we do not culturally take children to museums and galleries, my contact was only in adulthood. Until then my inspirations were comics and cartoons. At the age of 23 I came across the world of architecture and art, that is when I was a member of Interior Design at Senac.
For a long time I worked with architects and design, but had not yet found me. At the end of 2018, I decided to dedicate my time only to art. Murals have been the best way to express myself. And street art is liberating, I mean from experience. Street art does not have to be just graffiti, there are several possibilities for intervention in the street, in a public way.
What do you understand as Fine Arts?
I know the academic term, but I think it goes way beyond that. The expression, either way, will always touch someone and get their message across.
How do you define your Art?
Today she is a catch of various techniques and expressions, but has a very academic concept rooted in my work, maybe I am "a past living in the future" [laughs]
What are your greatest references in the world of the Arts?
I accompany some contemporary artists such as Aryz, Apollo Torres, The Gemini, Red. But my greatest inspirations are impressionism and post-Impressionism, the artists of these movements were of a surreal genius, I seek to balance the two.
What are the main themes used in his works? And why is that?
They are experiences and good moments lived by me, childhood, circus and even fantasy are themes that merge happy moments I spent. I believe the best way to express something true is when what you paint is something of your own, what comes from within.
What are the main techniques used in your work? And which ones do you like to use the most?
I have tried several types of techniques, but my favorites are brushstrokes in acrylic and spray.
What do you seek to pass through your works to the viewer?
My intention is always to lead the observer to connect with himself affectively through a memory, good times, nostalgia and fantasy.
What are the best and greatest experiences in your artistic career?
I believe it was at the critical moment that we were all going through in May 2022. Everyone was afraid, so I started to build an open-air exhibition so that people could have contact with art, that's when I opened my first solo exhibition with the title "life is a children's song". It was one of the most enriching experiences.
I have participated and have been in charge of large projects, but this had a great value, so much so that to this day people take pictures of the works that spread throughout the Historic Center of Santos.
In his work is there a kind of protest beyond what is obviously seen? If so, which one? If not, is there a theme that awakens your willingness to protest?
None, other than to aim to open people's eyes to art. I believe that the theme we should fight for the most would be art, because we are a country still very poor in culture. We need people who are more sensitive to art and culture, but I understand that this is a slow process and that it should be done on a day-to-day and day-to-day life.
Are you interested in doing a traveling exhibition? If so, how do you imagine this exhibition? Would you know what topic you would like to address?
Certainly! I have practically a pandora's box in my mind. But right now, the theme I'm exploring is dreaming. What, in fact, is the meeting of topics already addressed by me: childhood and the circus. This meeting makes me reflect and think of something more playful and fanciful.
Where do you want to get to as a Plastic Artist?
Look, I wish to go where art takes me, but I'd like to leave an artistic mark in many places!
