INTERVIEW
How did you get into the art world?
I have always designed it since I was a kid. However, I started my studies in the art world when I was attending fashion school. That is when I had a more expressive contact with drawing and painting.
What do you understand as Fine Arts?
It is the way we see the world within us, where the invisible becomes visible. It is where dreams come true.
How do you define your Art?
A tangle of ideas in which everything is connected. In constant motion!
What are your greatest references in the world of the Arts?
To name a few names: Jean Michel Basquiat, Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Miró, Jean Dubuffet and Keith Haring.
What are the main themes used in his works? And why is that?
My favorite theme is the chaos of metropolises and the constant search for survival. I like to paint the world in motion, where everything is connected. My drawings usually do not have a single sense, the works can be used from various angles, and so new elements arise.
What are the main techniques used in your work? And which one do you like to use the most?
I like to vary a lot. I use a lot of Posca pen, because my works contain many drawings, they facilitate the quality of the stroke. I also work a lot with acrylic paint, charcoal, glue and oily pastel chalk.
What do you seek to pass through your works to the viewer?
I like to make people find new worlds, escape reality, seek a new look, imagine an inverted world.
What are the best and greatest experiences in your artistic career?
To name a few: Solo Exhibition Sesc Passo Fundo RS, 2015. Solo Exhibition Casa de Cultura Érico Veríssimo Porto Alegre RS, 2018; Solo Exhibition Espaço 900, Porto Alegre RS, 2019; Individual Exhibition Gallery of Gare Passo Fundo RS, 2022; Individual Exhibition Passo Fundo Shopping RS, 2021. Individual Exhibition Collective Gallery 9 Porto Alegre RS, 2022 and Art printed on sneakers for brand Nastra Shoes Porto Alegre RS, 2019.
In your works, is there a kind of protest beyond what is obviously seen? If so, which one? If not, is there a theme that awakens your willingness to protest?
I want to protest against social inequality and on the preservation of nature.
Are you interested in doing a traveling exhibition? If so, how do you imagine this exhibition? Would you know what topic you would like to address?
I think about doing something related to the reuse of recycled materials, such as bottles, cardboard, old magazines. Moreover, bring the theme to underprivileged communities by showing that in art what matters most is creativity.
Where do you want to get to as an artist?
Exhibit in large museums and galleries abroad, and thus take my works to as many people as possible.
